So i wake up, login to my computer and start some chats with some old buddies on steam, and one of them gives me some serious hope. Apparently he can run Borderlands on his laptop. Now this may seem moot, but he also said that he can't run Team Fortress 2 (seems counter-intuitive imho...).

in other words: THERE'S HOPE FOR MY MACHINE!

now, it isn't the best, quite far from it actually (some know it's reputation quite well), but at least i can run tf2 on max resolutions but on minimum settings + and fps config and still manage to churn out around 20-50 fps (depending on the circumstances) while he's getting about 10fps on min resolutions and min settings on his laptop.

i know basing playability by one game versus another is probably not the best idea (borderlands vs tf2) but it still gives me hope nonetheless!

now to find anyone who'll still play it with me... (curse you l4d2...)
